Modeling for our Workshops

If you would like to experience some of the most stunning and epic landscapes on planet earth, craft soul-inspiring images with master photographers like Joel Belmont, and reinvigorate your passion through cutting-edge creative intensives – I invite you to apply to be a figure model for one of our Creative Transformation Workshops!

Models have found our workshops to be one of the most rewarding experiences of their career. Like our Dynamic Nude Masterclass, our emphasis with photographers is to cultivate an atmosphere of mutual respect, empathy, and to better understand the person they are creating art with – so the art is intrinsically more meaningful and inspiring. We emphasize quality over quantity – to slow down their process, and create stronger images of you, rather than just filling up memory cards with average images. This approach fosters creative breakthroughs and genuine fulfillment by both the models and photographers.

To be considered for one of our trips, PLEASE 1) read through the testimonials – so you know what to expect. 2) Read the ‘About’ section for details. 3) follow instructions to receive an application.

“I’ve modeled for over 15 years, predominately as a fine art nude model. I’ve shot all over the country and in every climate and condition you can imagine. I found Joel to be very prepared. He had all the right equipment, locations, information and attitude. He was extremely professional yet still was able to maintain a sense of community and fun. He treated us models with respect and ensured our safety at all times. Wonderful food was provided daily. This is by far the best workshop I have ever had the pleasure of working. I invite those models considering the workshop to sign up immediately so that you can discover the awe first-hand. You will not be disappointed.” ~Andrea, Grand Junction, CO

“I loved all of it. I have been modeling professionally for over 6 years, and I enjoyed this more than any other modeling job I’ve ever been on. Joel’s intention to create art and improve people’s art – the whole energy of everyone is pure and focused – and it makes for a magical experience. This is the fanciest ‘camping’ I’ve ever done – I felt super pampered. You are out in the elements, but you come back to a warm houseboat and hot shower each day. I was prepared for much worse – I felt spoiled the whole time. Take the chance and experience this – it’s incredible. You won’t regret it.” ~Marissa, Salinas, CA

“I’ve been modeling professionally for 7 years. Frankly this was one of the best modeling experiences I’ve ever had. It was a lot of fun, great adventures, great company and a beautiful time. The models on this trip were really lucky because we lived in luxurious conditions. Having showers and bathrooms and healthy meals each day is pretty incredible for being in the middle of nowhere. The landscapes are so gorgeous… being a part of one of the most beautiful landscapes on earth is a privilege.” ~Anastasia, New York, NY

“The workshop was mind-blowing… incredible! If you have the opportunity to model for this workshop – do it! It was a truly magical experience.” ~Gwen, San Francisco, CA

“This is my second time modeling for this workshop on Lake Powell. I absolutely love it. Every single day is filled with adventure, beautiful locations, with many opportunities to create gorgeous art and be around passionate, creative people. Come and explore, and discover a completely new world for yourself.” ~Dasha, Salt Lake City

“The lake is amazing. I’ve never really been anywhere like this… when I travel I go to cities. This is totally different for me – I LOVED it. Do something new… get out of your comfort zone and enjoy it. It’s amazing!” ~Jennifer, San Francisco, CA

“You are in for a treat! Joel was an excellent host – very knowledgeable of his trade and the surroundings. This was a thrilling trip through the grand landscapes of Lake Powell, a trip that I would definitely do again!” ~Randa, Aspen, CO

“Participating in the Dynamic Nude Workshop was one of the most enriching experiences of my life! From start to finish, the trip was fun, professional and productive. Joel is so knowledgeable about the Lake Powell environment and all the intricate details of how to shoot there and produce the best possible images. They are also experienced hosts who can cook delicious food and provide diverse entertainment throughout the trip. What more could you ask for?” ~Lily, Carbondale, CO

“This was my first visit to Utah and it will be with me for life. Fresh, crisp air, daily hiking, boat rides, yoga in the morning with the girls, gigantic rocks growing straight out of the water – I was surrounded by amazing beauty everyday. We were treated like model royalty, always well taken care of and respected. The delicious home cooked meals, comfortable beds, lots of laughs by the campfire… I didn’t want to go home! Working with so many talented photographers was an amazing experience. Thank you to Joel and Kim and their lovely wives who welcomed me with open arms. Lake Powell was an enlightening journey.” ~Tish, Los Angeles, CA

“I was very impressed with how well the group worked together… the energy and the positivity. Having professionally modeled many years – this is at the top of the list… Lake Powell is the greatest playground in nature. The food is amazing!” ~Sara, Los Angeles, CA

About Modeling for the Workshop :

Dynamic Nude/Lake Powell Workshop (UT):

    • For our Lake Powell Trip, there are typically 2 professional figure models on our 7-day Dynamic Nude Workshop on Lake Powell, Utah. We prefer models that are highly experienced specifically in art nude modeling, though extensive experience is not necessary as long as you are comfortable posing nude, take direction well, and enjoy creatively collaborating with photographers.
    • You will need to have experience having modeled nude in the ‘elements’. While we do get a lot of beautiful weather during our May or September Workshops in Utah, there can be days when it’s windy or where we are working deep in a canyon where the air is 20-30 degrees cooler. While we try work when conditions are best, and while we will encourage you to wear clothes that will keep you warm in between posing, there will be times when you will be nude for 15-20 minutes at a time (or longer) in cool temps – and it’s important that you can comfortably handle these conditions. If you are a ‘fair weather’ person and usually prefer the studio – this would not be a good trip for you. If however you are the adventurous type that will jump into cool water and pose in it for 10 minutes to get ‘the shot’ – that’s who we are looking for.
    • Time spent modeling each day is usually a few hours in the morning and again in the afternoon. Most of the time is spent going to and from locations, though we also work to provide models with down time each day, as well as breakfast/lunch/dinner, evening slideshows and films, morning inspiration meetings, and lots of instruction and assignments as well.
    • Typically we’re unable hire models with extensive tattoos or breast implants/augmentations, as we need models with natural figures that are not visually distracting from the narratives/ideas in the images. If you have small tattoos that can be easily covered each day with a concealer – feel free to send some images. It would also work best if you can maintain pubic hair in some capacity – if you shave – please grow it out if possible for the workshop – as well as even out any tan lines. The goal is as natural as possible.
    • All transportation, food & accommodations during the workshop are covered. For the Lake Powell workshop, you may travel with us on our personal boat, all your meals are included, and though we tent camp on location, we bring amenities for comfort, like a propane hot shower, enclosed bathroom, etc, for your use. We can purchase airfare for you in advance once you are confirmed for the trip, though that’s the only thing we do not cover, so it would come out of what you will make if we purchase it. Everything else – we cover, and rides can be arranged from the airport, or efforts will be made to arrange carpooling if someone is traveling from your area.
    • Pay for the Lake Powell trip is around $2,000 ($1,500 + an additional $500 +/- in tips) plus the possibility for an additional $200 – $800 (see below). HOWEVER: Keep in mind that models that keep coming back to our workshops year after year – do not do so just for the money – but for the truly amazing trip – to experience the beauty, magnificence and relaxation of a week spent on Lake Powell (unlike any other place on earth), and for the photographic opportunities. If you want to experience some of the most amazing places in the world, come away with great pay – and hundreds of edited, stunning images from top photographers, then I invite you to apply for this workshop. You can see more images from the trip in our Gallery and on our Blog
    • We only offer spots on the trip to models that demonstrate proficiency in their portfolio with artistic nude modeling in challenging elements. We also expect models to help promote the trip via social media and email invites.  Models that refer a photographer that signs up get an EXTRA $200 Cash Bonus for each registered photographer that heard about it from them!
    • If the seats are not filled for the scheduled week(s) by 30 days before the trip (which has only happened once in 11 years) you are encouraged to book other work during this time so you don’t have a potential hole in your schedule.

Epic Nude/Olympic Peninsula Powell Workshop (WA):

  • There are typically 3 professional figure models on our 5-day workshop. We prefer models that are highly experienced specifically in art nude modeling, though extensive experience is not necessary as long as you are comfortable posing nude, take direction well, and enjoy creatively collaborating with photographers. Dates for our next two Epic Nude Workshops are August 26-30 and Sept. 2-6.
  • You will need to have experience having modeled nude in the ‘elements’. While we do get a lot of beautiful weather during our workshop in Washington, there can be days when it’s windy or rainy. While we try work when conditions are best, and while we will encourage you to wear clothes that will keep you warm in between posing, there will be times when you could be nude for 15-20 minutes at a time (or longer) in cool temps – and it’s important that you can comfortably handle these conditions. If you are a ‘fair weather’ person and usually prefer the studio – this would not be a good trip for you. If however you are the adventurous type that will jump into cool water and pose in it for 10-15 minutes to get ‘the shot’ – that’s who we are looking for.
  • Time spent modeling each day is usually a few hours in the morning and afternoon. Most of the time is spent hiking to and from locations, or during lessons/tutorials (that models learn a lot from as well – as I don’t teach as much of the ‘how’ as the ‘why’) though we also work to provide models with some down time each day.
  • Typically we do not hire models with extensive tattoos or breast implants/augmentations. If you have small tattoos that can be easily covered each day with a concealer – feel free to send some images. It would also work best if you can maintain pubic hair in some capacity – if you shave – please grow it out if possible for the workshop – as well as even out any tan lines. Let me know if this will be a problem.
  • All transportation, food & accommodations during the workshop are covered. We do not cover travel to/from the workshop, however we can purchase airfare for you in advance once you are confirmed for the trip, though it would come out of what you will make. Everything else – we cover, and rides can be arranged for getting to and from the airport (PDX and SEATAC are both 1.5 hours from where we start in Rochester, WA).
  • Once we have confirmed you for the spot, you agree to help us promote the workshops as a spokesperson. We will send you ready-to-use promotional materials that you will need to post to your social media 3-4 times per month until the workshop starts (failure to do so can result in forfeiture of your spot). As a bonus – any person that signs and heard about it from you gets you an additional $100 cash for each referral. It also helps ensure the viability of the trip, as the only way it would be canceled is if there aren’t a minimum number of photographers. We’ve only had to do this once in 10 years.
  • Compensation is $1,000, PLUS a generous tip pool collected from each photographer that should add an additional $600+ to your base pay (total take-home pay is usually $1600 – $2000 depending on the attendees). We stipulate to each of the 6 photographers to tip at least $100 per model in their pack list. HOWEVER: Keep in mind that models that keep coming back to our workshops year after year – do not do so just for the money – but for the truly amazing trip – to experience the beauty, magnificence and relaxation of a week spent in a paradise similar to New Zealand, and for the photographic opportunities. If you want to experience some of the most amazing places in the world, come away with great pay – and hundreds of edited, stunning images from top photographers, then I invite you to apply for this workshop.
  • If the seats are not filled for the scheduled week(s) by 30 days before the trip (which has only happened once in 11 years) you are encouraged to book other work during this time so you don’t have a potential hole in your schedule.
